A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
A boy fell into the lake beside the bandstand in Broomfield Park and emerged with a bell dated November 1st 1922....what can this be about? Does anyone have any ideas?...

Maybe it was a tribute to Iris Murdoch by the literature lovers of Palmers Green? Then again, it could have something to do with the 21 Witches of Winchmore... You could try googling them too.
Google 'The Palmers Scream' to find out more. :D
They used to ring a bell like that ten minutes before closing the park. Could this be where it ended when they stopped alerting people to imminent closure?
