I agree Kari. I guess we can all help by supporting the shops that are already there. I have bought my first purchase from the new pet shop, Apollo Pets, open 9ish to 3. There's also a tiny new coffee shop and a Polish deli, and the flower shop which has been there for about a year. I'd be all for using an empty store for artists and craftspeople - studio space perhaps? And then there's that local cafe that so many of us crave…

Matt and everyone, good to meet you at the AGM. All the renovations are fantastic news and are making/will make a huge difference to the look of the street. But what is being done to actually encourage businesses to move into the empty stores? Could landlords offer reduced rents or incentives to artists and craftspeople, for example? That would in turn bring in other businesses like cafes.
