Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration of the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK. In our area so many of the things we report on on this site have significant input from volunteers committed to improving our communities - so it's worth considering for a moment the impact that  volunteer-run organisations…

Southgate's rare Edward VIII Pillar Box

Posted on December 20, 2013 at 11:00 0 Comments

It’s funny how so much stuff on our streets just gets ignored – lamp posts, telegraph poles – those funny phone cabinets that you sometime see people tinkering inside even the bright red pillar boxes.

It’s around this time of year – the last posting day for…

Hi Richard,
I grew up in the area and have attended Trinity at Bowes since a child so still very much involved in the area. Hope to let all those connected with Bowes and Bound know all the amazing activities and events happening at the TaB Centre alongside the church. Regards Suzy

Hello - thanks for adding me Richard. I live in Maidstone Road with my 4 and 6 year old. I don't know why it's taken so long to join. Is it better to keep in touch with this site? Or over the facebook page. I am more of a facebook person...I hope.

Richard,

Good to meet you, even if it's only via the B&B website.  Unfortunately I have other things to do now, but in time I will contribute to discussions about local issues.

Hello Richard,
Many thanks for adding me to the community website... I never knew this local resource was available.

I am a local business woman and maybe interested in advertising my business here but I was interested if it is possible to advertise my car for sale on here as it is a good family car 7 seater... Anyway if you could let me know what the etiquette is for these sorts of things that would be great.

Kind regards

Rachel

Morning and thanks for the welcome Richard! I am really looking forward to getting involved in the site and the community and am already active in the area. I am a prospective council candidate for the Lib Dems and as such would be grateful if you could put a link to my profile where I am mentioned on this page: http://www.bowesandbounds.org/forum/topics/local-council-election-candidates Thanks so much.
