Here is a photograph of the Ranelagh Pub - it must be from around the 1890's?
The men (all men) in the picture are holding thin canes ... is this some sort of "Beating the Bounds" tradition?
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Many thanks to Kate Long at the Ranelagh Pub for passing on the Photograph

Comment by Paul o'callaghan on April 13, 2012 at 14:53 It's called 'Haringey pubs' by Chris & Hazel Whitehouse Lindsey.Published in 2004.It is a little 'Tottenham-centric' but is worth reading regardless.
