This was taken in the garden of 63 Myddleton Road in about 1960. The house was mainly given over to business premises - William Davies opticians and other offices. My mother and I lived in the rest. Although we were only renting, my mother had charge of the garden and it was her pride and joy. I remember a magnificent rhododendron and a cherry tree. On the other side of the grassed over culvert was an allotment worked by Mr. Mears, and there were more allotments beyond the fence. My mother left London in the early 1970s and died in 2002. It is only recently that I heard about the community garden. Could anyone give me the history of the intervening period? To hear of her garden becoming derelict would have broken my mother's heart.
