HI everyone, Just saw some of the new comments here. I thought in the past to do a project here with local artists, but at the moment very busy preparing an exhibition about Myddleton Road, that will be exhibited at bruce Castle Museum from May, so at the moment i can't really do it. It will be lovely to meet at some point, perhaps draw in the neighbourhood when it's getting warmer? Diana Ferguson, you asked about my classes, so here is a link, you can see more. I have only one space available for this term. https://n.sendmsg.co.il/Minisites.aspx?p=64874-11892182688-5089

Take care everyone.

Hi Diana Ferguson - I am slow to reply but would be happy to drop by sometime and meet up. I also really enjoy painting - trained as a sculptor but love painting as well.

I'd love to meet other creative people in the area. Does the artists' group ever meet up? And I see that someone called Gabriela runs classes but I have no idea where these are. I'm happy for people to pop by informally to my house if anyone would like to meet up.

Hi Bronwyn, and welcome to the area. Gabriela runs a drawing/painting class. I'm an oil painter, but have not had much opportunity to do much this year, alas, due to other pressures. I'd love for us to be a more active artistic community here.

Hi Diana - I'm not sure there is any "process" as such :) - chatting to Gabriela before xmas, we thought it might be fun to do some local painting outdoors, as the weather improves in spring, but we've not started doing that yet. What sort of painting are you interested in? Abstract? Contemporary figurative? Traditional? All of these?

We really need to have some sort of get-together for the group.

Hi I'm keen to hook up with local artists. I trained in fine art years ago and have started painting again. I have now decided that painting is what I want to do with my time, so I'd really love to meet other local likeminded souls. What's the process?

Well, I'm certainly interested. (Not sure how to contact you privately on here?)

Hi fellow artists,

I would like to do a project in Bounds green area with other local artists.

Please contact me if you are interested in hearing more.

At the moment I've got an art trail in Bounds Green as well if you want to see it.

Looking forward to hearing from you, Gabriela

Thanks Richard for changing the group name.

One of my interests is materials, and I've been developing some oil painting mediums with friends in the US and in Devon. One is a texturing medium used to achieve rather Rembrandt-esque paint-handling, which we've called CKM medium - this has been used for my US friend David Kassan's BP Portrait entries (he got 3rd place last year with his portrait of his mother (here), and he's being exhibited again this year with a portrait of a Holocaust survivor).

I'm also formulating a lead-free "lead white substitute" which has handling characteristics very close to lead white:

Two different variants - a very stiff one which holds peaks, and a softer stringier variant.
