Can't remember last locksmiths I used except that it was £88 standard call out charge (key had sheared off in lock).   Do suggest you get several quotes for comparison.   Just typed my Bounds Green postcode into Yell.com to find locksmiths out of curiousity.  

One that looked worth a second look (subject of course to comparison quotes) was

http://www.alexandralocksmiths.co.uk/ - their site says "As recommended in the Evening Standard".  Family run business.  Also no call out charge or charging by the half hour.  They appear to have some good commendations under their "happy clients" link.   I have never used but they might be worth trying.  The Yell.com entry lists them as Muswell Hill-based
