A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
Chatting over coffee the other day, Mandy and I agreed it would be nice to meet other local people who are freelance or part-time workers or who work from home. We know how nice it is to speak to real people during the working day when you don't have a standard office set up and colleagues on hand to chat to.
So, we're both going to be in The Step on Friday 13 December between 1-2.30pm for a coffee, perhaps a spot of lunch and some socialising, and see what happens.
We'd love you to join us! Really interested to find out what other people do, what skills they have, what projects they're working on and also just to meet people and make new friends and contacts.
See you there? Mandy (fab freelance graphic designer) made this ace poster. If you can't make it but like the idea, please leave us a note below.
Friday 31st at either time is fine for me too. Looking forward to meeting you!
sounds good to me too, my preference would be later (4pm). I find lunchtimes tricky.
4pm better for me too. Will plan around my work if poss. Would love to make this one.
4pm would be ideal for me too
Great! I'll set up an event.
Has the January freelance friday been and gone? If so, I've missed it. What a shame. But I'd definitely be interested in the next one. Will they be weekly or monthly? I'd quite like weekly as I work from home all the time so more regular contact with other local freelancers would be good. Like others, 4pm-ish would suit me better too - a sort of reward at the end of the week! Thanks for starting this Lindsey. Diana
Hi Diana - I'm afraid you did miss it but what we decided was that we would run an official Freelance Friday on the last Friday of the month but in the meantime, some of us may well go to the Step on Fridays anyway.
I suggest checking into the Group each week if you're looking for company - I may well come every week just to get out of the hosue and Mandy might too.
Look forward to meeting you! http://www.bowesandbounds.org/group/freelance-fridayers
I thought as much, but yes I may well come to the Step this Friday anyway, to get out of the house. Maybe see you there. Diana
